And thankfully, you&#039;re right - the laws have definitley changed since then. It&#039;s unfortunate, however, that it has taken tragedy to make serious changes in our legal and mental health system. And more still needs to be done.

		<description>I had the same question: Why did no one help this young man? I just posted over at Babble about an experience I had in college living with an obvious paranoid/schizophrenic. Getting help was not so easy. She was a nontraditional student and seemed to have been living with her illness for quiet a while. We were afraid to go to sleep at night but had no power to have her removed from our campus house. We were told by government officials that until she did herself or anyone else harm, nothing could be done. Hopefully the laws have changed since then. This whole story is a horrible tragedy.
