I think, as with most things in life, intent is the key ingredient.

I read several articles this year that focused on the idea that people cheat not because of purely sexual urges, but because they felt emotionally rejected in their relationships. Such a sad reason. And I don’t mean “weak excuse” I mean, what an unhappy situation, to feel that unwanted by someone who has promised themselves to you (for whatever duration).

While my husband and I have no set definition on how we’d recognize cheating if we saw it, we have agreed that communication is the key and I pray we can remember that in the long run. “Straight up, tell me if you want out.” I bowed out of my first marriage as gracefully as possible when that husband told me there was someone else. I truly only wanted him to be happy and if she was better suited, then who was I to argue? (Married 8 years, no children..) Just don’t humiliate me. At least give me the respect of some honesty.
