We should be encouraging our kids to dream and excel. As a parent, you have to set limits. You have to protect your children. If she was 18 or 19 and told her parents, “I’m out of here, don’t tell me what to do! I’m an adult,” I could understand. Legally, she would have that right, even though it still wouldn’t be the best decision. But her parents have no excuse. Bad move on their part. I definitely agree with you. If she was determined to solo sail around the world, could they not have at least had a chase boat or something?
