"Much easier to back things up now than it used to be."

Isn't that the truth! I've found myself going back and scanning negatives and pictures. I've actually been able to repair and color correct a lot of old and faded historical family photos.

Although I do not think that the digital versions are a replacement for something you can hold and put on your wall (we print many photos with an online service), once documents/photos/etc. are reduced to 1s and 0s, they're a hell of a lot easier to manage and (if you store them correctly) safer.

I have a ton of “old fashioned” photos from when my son was born. They were taken with a 35 MM. We didn’t get a digital camera until he was around 4 or so.

I have the negatives stored in a box. Much easier to back things up now than it used to be.
