I always loved the fact that in addition to fashion, they focused on issues that were important to us as women. After reading that article, I was turned off. Yes, overweight people exist in this country. They sometimes happen to fall in love, get married and have children. I was appalled that someone would be so repulsed by their physical appearance that they would feel the need to draw this sort of negative attention to it. What’s next, demanding that “unsightly people in wheelchairs” be banned from the mall? I will most certainly not be renewing my subscription with Marie Claire. I am sure I can find another magazine to fill its slot when the time comes. Sorry for such a long-winded response. I have been a longtime subscriber to Marie Claire magazine. I read about it on CNN and could not believe that Marie Claire would allow such a horrible article to be published.
